Welcome to the Critical Urbanisms family!
Last week we had the pleasure to welcome new members to our CU family here in Basel.
Our new students from Fall 2024 embarked our program during an intense and exciting Introduction Week in which they got an overview into the large research scope of Critical Urbanisms. During the morning sessions they engaged with theoretical corner stones such as "Ways of Knowing the City" of our interdisciplinary program. During the afternoon sessions, they were invited to join tours that complemented the theoretical insights from the morning sessions with practical experiences and insights in and around Basel. One of these tours has been hosted by the organization "Surprise" which sheds light on the often invisibilized everyday life realities of homeless people here in Basel. We wish our new students a great start here in Basel and look forward to many more convivial learning experiences and discussions!
