The Distance between Minutes and Weeks: How Standardization Creates Spacetime Plurality at Tema Port

I spent several days with haulage truck drivers outside of Tema Port in Ghana, where they wait for anywhere from hours to weeks to pick up container loads. Customs workers helped me navigate access to camp-like communities drivers had created in the face of long term temporariness. In contrast to speedy, profit-generating movement taking place within the port, the drivers described their predicament as indicative of the economic hardship that befalls the many, despite the country's developmental moves.
