Ambre is a PhD candidate in Urban Studies and part of the PRECURBICA project, which investigates the impacts of climate change in African coastal cities. Her research focuses on Cotonou, Benin, where she examines everyday experiences of flooding and living with water in lakeside neighbourhoods. Amid Cotonou’s rapid urban transformation, these communities face demolition to make way for large-scale infrastructure projects. Her work explores how residents navigate the constant threats of eviction and how national urban visions often perpetuate historical spatial and social inequalities.
With professional experience in architecture, urban planning and design, and development cooperation, Ambre is trained as an architect and urban planner at Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM) and holds an MSc in Urbanism Studies from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH).
