Sai Ho is a PhD candidate in Urban Studies and part of the SNF funded research project ASPIRA, which identify defiance by centering on visual analysis grounds aspirational urbanism, rescaling the object of urban theory towards everyday micro-practices in Hong Kong and Taipei. His research is exploring Hong Kong and Taipei, the cities he grew up and studied, and focusing on aspirational everyday practices to connect and re-navigate the community space in these two cities under the socio- and political climate rapid change.

Before joining UNIBAS, he pursued a Master of Arts in Asian Studies at Leiden University, and a Master's degree at the Graduate Institute of Building and Planning, National Taiwan University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Studies from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research explores urban space as an alternative public sphere and the resilience of Chinese diasporic communities, particularly within Hong Kong and its transnational connections. Outside academia, he has been actively engaged in civil society and cultural initiatives across Hong Kong and Taiwan, including journalistic writing and facilitating social innovation.
